Wolf Pack Weekly, October 17-23
Oct 17, 2016The Wolf Pack kicked off their 20th-anniversary season last week by splitting a pair of games. The Pack got the year off to a rousing start Friday night, with a 6-3 victory over the St. John’s IceCaps at the XL Center. Veteran forward Philip McRae led the way in that contest with a goal and two assists. Saturday night was not as kind to the Wolf Pack, however, as they fell in their first road game, 6-2, at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Matt Carey scored his first Wolf Pack goal in that one, and Nicklas Jensen notched his first of the season.

This is the first of eight games on the season between the Wolf Pack and the Phantoms, and the first of four visits by the Wolf Pack to Allentown. -
Danick Martel led the way for Lehigh Valley in Saturday’s victory over Springfield, with two goals, and defenseman T.J. Brennan, who captured the AHL’s Eddie Shore Award, for best defenseman, with the Toronto Marlies last season, had the game-winning goal and an assist.
