Wolf Pack Weekly, November 3-9

Nov 3, 2014

The Wolf Pack (6-2-1-0, 13 pts.) stretched a winning streak to a season-high three games this past weekend, capturing a 4-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Saturday, in the Pack’s first-ever visit to the PPL Center in Allentown, PA, and knocking off the Worcester Sharks Sunday in Hartford, by a score of 4-3.  Chris Bourque had two goals and an assist in the two games, and Oscar Lindberg (1-2-3), Justin Vaive (1-2-3) and Mat Bodie (0-3-3) all also contributed three points.  Both Mackenzie Skapski, with 27 saves on Saturday, and Cedrick Desjardins, who stopped 36 shots in Sunday’s win, turned in First-Star performances in net.

The Wolf Pack play their “school day special” morning game this Wednesday, November 5, as the Albany Devils come to the XL Center for an 11:00 AM faceoff.  The Pack then head back to the Keystone State for a two-game visit to Hershey.  The Wolf Pack and Bears will do battle at the Giant Center Saturday at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 5:00.

Wednesday, November 5 vs. the Albany Devils at the XL Center, 11:00 AM

  • The Wolf Pack will be launching their “Kindness Campaign” at this game, promoting the importance of treating others with respect and consideration, both in person and on-line.  All students who attend this game will be urged to sign a pledge to be more kind and respectful of others.  The name of every youngster who signs the pledge will appear on a Wolf Pack specialty jersey, which the team will wear for the Pack’s “Anti-bullying Night” Friday, March 27.  Fans can also take the pledge on-line, through the Wolf Pack’s official website at www.hartfordwolfpack.com, and by tweeting the hashtag #WolfPackKindness.
  • The Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack” has been expanded to Wednesday and Thursday home games, in addition to Sundays.  The Family Value Pack features two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for only $35.
  • Wolf Pack “Winning Wednesdays” are back for the 2014-15 season.  If the Wolf Pack win this game, each fan receives a free ticket to the Pack’s next home game, which is Friday, November 14 vs. Bridgeport (some restrictions apply).
  • The Eastern Conference-leading Devils are one point ahead of the Wolf Pack in the Northeast Division, with a 6-1-1-1 record for 14 points.  Albany is coming off of its first back-to-back losses of the season, a 4-1 regulation defeat to Bridgeport on Saturday and a 2-1 overtime loss to Portland Sunday, both at home.
  • This is the third of ten meetings on the year between the Wolf Pack and Devils, and Albany took the first two by sweeping a home-and-home series October 24 (a 7-3 final at the XL Center) and October 25 (5-2 in Albany).
  • The Devils’ co-scoring leaders are Paul Thompson (8-3-11), who leads the AHL in goals, and Scott Timmins (4-7-11), who has at least a point in all nine of Albany’s games thus far.
  • For this and all Wolf Pack home games, tickets start as low as $12 for youth 12 years old or younger and are available at the XL Center ticket office, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.
