Wolf Pack Weekly, November 26-December 2

Nov 26, 2018

The Wolf Pack (10-9-1-2, 23 pts., .523) have their first three-game winning streak of the season, after sweeping a trio of tilts around the Thanksgiving holiday.  The week began with a 4-3 overtime win at home vs. Providence on Wednesday, with Matt Beleskey scoring twice and Vinni Lettieri netting the game-winner with his first AHL goal of the season.  On Friday night in Bridgeport, Lettieri had two tallies, the second of which tied the game with 1:17 left in regulation, and scored the only goal of the shootout, in a 3-2 triumph.  Then, in the second half of a home-and-home with the Sound Tigers Saturday at the XL Center, Dustin Tokarski made a team season-high 43 saves, as the Wolf Pack prevailed by a score of 3-1.

This week:  The Wolf Pack have an unusually light schedule this week, with only one game on the docket.  That is their first look at the AHL-leading Charlotte Checkers this Saturday night, a 7:00 PM faceoff at the XL Center on “Star Wars Night”.

Saturday, December 1 vs. the Charlotte Checkers (Carolina) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

  • This is “Star Wars Night” at the XL Center.  Fans can hang out with their favorite Star Wars characters and win some awesome Star Wars prizes.
  • Also at this game, the first 2,000 fans will receive a Wolf Pack 2019 calendar, courtesy of Hartford Distributors.
  • The Checkers sport the best record in the AHL, standing at 16-4-1-0 through 21 games, for 33 points and a .786 points percentage.  That is good for a six-point lead on second-place Bridgeport in the Atlantic Division, and Charlotte is ten points up on the Wolf Pack.
  • This is the first of eight games on the season between the Wolf Pack and Checkers.  Hartford was 2-6-0-0 in an eight-game season series last year, and the two teams split four meetings at the XL Center.
  • Janne Kuokkanen leads the Checkers in points and goals, and is tied for third in the AHL in points, with 8-14-22 in 21 games.
  • At this and every Wolf Pack home game, fans are encouraged to come early for “Hockey Happy Hour” in the Comcast Coliseum Club.  Enjoy $2 beers and $5 appetizers from 5:00 PM until puck drop.
  • Tickets for this and all 2018-19 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.  Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger start at just $13 each, and all tickets will have a $3 day-of-game increase.
