Jan 4, 2016The Wolf Pack (14-18-2-0, 30 pts., .441 pts. percentage) ended calendar year 2015 on a high note, dispatching the Portland Pirates by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday, but then dropped a pair of home games to begin 2016. The Pack broke out to a 2-0 first-period lead vs. Albany on Saturday, but then the Devils scored four straight goals on the way to a 4-3 win. A Wolf Pack comeback bid fell short on Sunday, as Hartford battled back from a 3-0 deficit against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but only could get the score as close as 3-2. Wolf Pack points leader Chad Nehring (12-11-23) scored in all three games, stretching a goal streak to a team season-high four games (4-1-5), and goaltender Jeff Malcolm extended a shutout streak to 167:32 before giving up a pair of goals in the third period of Tuesday’s game.
