Feb 9, 2015The Wolf Pack (26-14-4-2, 58 pts.) logged a regulation loss and an overtime defeat in a pair of Northeast Division road games this past week. On Wednesday night at division-leading Syracuse, the Pack built a 2-0 lead on second-period goals by Ryan Haggerty and Marek Hrivik, but then saw the Crunch score three in the third session and hand Hartford a 3-2 setback. Then it was the Wolf Pack’s turn to come back in the third period Saturday in Bridgeport, as Danny Kristo and Conor Allen both had a goal and an assist in the third, and the Wolf Pack arose from 2-0 down to get a standings point in a 3-2 overtime loss.

This week: The Wolf Pack make their lone trip of the season to St. John’s, Newfoundland, visiting the IceCaps for 6:00 PM games Tuesday and Wednesday. That is followed by a Northeast Division home-and-home with Albany, Saturday night at the XL Center at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon in Albany at 3:00.
Tuesday, February 10 at the St. John’s IceCaps (Mile One Centre), 6:00 PM Eastern
- With the back-to-back set that starts with this game, the Wolf Pack wrap up their season series with the IceCaps. The two clubs split a two-game series in Hartford just after the turn of the New Year, the Wolf Pack winning 4-2 on January 2 and the IceCaps breaking back with a 7-3 decision the next night.
- The IceCaps come into the week at 20-22-5-2 for 47 points and in fifth place in the Atlantic Division, seven points behind fourth-place Providence. In their last two games, St. John’s suffered an 8-1 loss at home to Portland Friday night, and then rebounded to blank the Pirates 1-0 on Saturday.
- IceCap rookie goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who stopped all 35 Portland shots in St. John’s’ 1-0 win Saturday night, leads the AHL in saves with 1,113, 38 more than the next-busiest netminder in the league.

Wednesday, February 11 at the St. John’s IceCaps (Mile One Centre), 6:00 PM Eastern
- In two visits to St. John’s last season, the Wolf Pack posted a 7-2 win April 12 and a 6-2 loss on April 13. All-time against the IceCaps at Mile One Centre, the Pack is 3-3-0-0 in six games.
- The Wolf Pack come into this week 10-8-1-0 on the road, and St. John’s 11-8-4-0 in 23 home games.

Saturday, February 14 vs. the Albany Devils at the XL Center, 7:30 PM
- This game is part of a Hartford hockey doubleheader, preceded by UConn Men’s Huskies Hockey East action vs. Northeastern at 3:35.

- The XL Center’s Comcast Coliseum Club is featuring a new buffet package for all remaining Saturday Wolf Pack games. The menu will include: tender, juicy, endless prime rib, alongside seven premium Saturday-only buffet additions, those being delicious, nonstop peel ‘n eat shrimp, a nightly chef special, fresh vegetables, potatoes, a kids’ entree, salad, fresh fruit, antipasto and dessert, all for only $19.00.
- The Devils are five points behind the Wolf Pack in the Northeast Division standings, with a record of 22-17-4-5 for 53 points. Albany has lost three of its last four, after a 5-0-2-0 run in the previous seven.
- This is the sixth of ten meetings between the Wolf Pack and Devils on the year, and the Wolf Pack have won the last three after losses in the first two. Hartford is 2-1-0-0 in three home games against Albany.
- Veterans Paul Thompson (22-16-38 in 46 GP) and Joe Whitney (17-21-38 in 43 GP) are tied for the Devils’ scoring lead, and tied for ninth in the AHL in points, and Thompson ranks second in the league in goals.

The first 2,000 fans into the Wolf Pack’s home game on Saturday, March 7 will receive a distinctive “double bobble”, depicting both halves of the first brother combination ever to play at the same time for the Wolf Pack, Chris and Ryan Bourque. The bobblehead is presented by Team Ferior. Also, the Wolf Pack will be offering a special discount package for the March 7 game. The deal includes four Red-Level tickets to the March 7 bobblehead night, two vouchers for Red-Level tickets to any other 2014-15 Wolf Pack home game, and a mini-helmet autographed by the Bourque brothers. Once again this season, every Friday-night Wolf Pack home game will feature $1 hot dogs and $2 beers, through the start of the second period. After this Friday night, the Wolf Pack’s next Friday home date is March 20, when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms visit for a 7:00 PM game.
The Wolf Pack’s “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack” is available this season for all Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday home games. The Family Value Pack features two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for only $35.
