Apr 3, 2017The Wolf Pack (23-41-4-2, 52 pts., .371) registered their first shutout of the season Friday night at the XL Center, with Magnus Hellberg making 20 saves in a 3-0 blanking of Hershey. Hartford then fell in Albany Saturday, though, 4-3, despite Nicklas Jensen’s second straight goal-and-an-assist game, and dropped a 4-1 decision Sunday to the Bruins in Providence.

This week: The Wolf Pack’s final two home games of the season are this Friday and Saturday nights. The Springfield Thunderbirds come to town for a 7:15 PM game on Friday, and then it’s the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins visiting on Saturday night at 7:00, for “Fan Appreciation Night”. After that, the Wolf Pack start a season-ending stretch of four straight on the road with a Sunday-afternoon visit to Bridgeport (3:00).
Friday, April 7 vs. the Springfield Thunderbirds (Florida) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM
- This is the last Friday-night Wolf Pack home game of the season, and the last chance to enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period.
- This is the last of five visits to the XL Center by Springfield, and the ninth of ten games on the season between the Wolf Pack and Thunderbirds. The Pack is 3-5-0-0 in the season series thus far, 2-2-0-0 on home ice.
- The Thunderbirds defeated two of the top teams in the Atlantic Division in their last two games, beating Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3-1 on Friday night and knocking off Providence by a 3-2 score on Saturday.
- Goaltender Sam Brittain allowed a total of only three goals on 62 shots in the Thunderbirds’ last two victories.

Saturday, April 8 vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM
- This is the Wolf Pack’s last home game of the year, and it’s “Fan Appreciation Night”, presented by KOTA, as the Wolf Pack pay tribute to the all the great fans who have supported the team throughout the 2016-17 season. The Wolf Pack will be giving away thousands of dollars-worth of prizes, including a new TV, a round of golf for four and overnight stay at Mohegan Sun, and gift cards to some of Hartford's best local restaurants.
- The Penguins won only one of their three games this past weekend (1-1-0-1), but still lead the Atlantic Division, and Eastern Conference, by a margin of six points over Lehigh Valley.
- Wilkes-Barre/Scranton forward Dominik Simon has 2-9-11 in the Penguins’ seven games vs. the Wolf Pack this year, leading both teams in scoring in the season series.
- The Penguins have won all seven games between themselves and the Wolf Pack this season, and are 3-0-0-0 in three previous visits to the XL Center.

Sunday, April 9 at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Islanders) at the Webster Bank Arena, 3:00 PM
- Bridgeport finished last week with three straight road wins, moving back into the fourth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, ahead of Hershey.
- This is the last of eight games on the year between the Wolf Pack and their Connecticut rivals, and the last of four Hartford visits to Bridgeport. The Wolf Pack are 2-3-1-1 in head-to-head action to this point, with a 1-1-0-1 road record.
- Sound Tiger rookie forward Darren Nowick has his first AHL multiple-goal game Saturday, with two scores in a 4-2 Bridgeport win at Hershey.
