Wolf Pack Make Player Moves
Mar 2, 2018Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned forward Dawson Leedahl from the Wolf Pack to its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and that the Wolf Pack has released forward Shawn O’Donnell from his Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.
Leedahl had been with the Wolf Pack since November 30, and has skated in 30 games with Hartford, notching one goal and five assists for six points and serving 24 minutes in penalties. In 18 ECHL contests prior to being summoned from the Swamp Rabbits, the 22-year-old rookie had seven goals and ten assists for 17 points, along with 16 PIM. Leedahl was signed as a free agent by the Rangers May 8, 2017, out of the Western Hockey League.
O’Donnell had missed the last 16 Wolf Pack games, after being injured in his first game of the season with the Wolf Pack, January 19 vs. the Utica Comets. Prior to joining the Wolf Pack on a PTO, the fifth-year pro had seen action in 28 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, tallying 14-22-36 with 13 PIM.
The Wolf Pack return to action tonight, traveling to Springfield to take on the Thunderbirds. Faceoff is 7:05 PM, and all of the action can be heard live on News Radio 1410 WPOP, and on-line at www.newsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio. Video streaming is available at www.ahllive.com.
The Wolf Pack’s next home game is tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, vs. the Providence Bruins. Faceoff is 3:00, and that is the Wolf Pack’s “Military Appreciation Day”, as the first 2,000 fans receive Wolf Pack “Dog Tags”, presented by Go Graphix, and the Wolf Pack wear special military-themed jerseys. Those jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting military-related charities.
