Wolf Pack Announce Player Transactions

Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that theparent New York Rangers have loaned forward Jesper Fast to the Wolf Pack. Also, the Rangers have reassigned forward Michael Kantor from the Wolf Pack to its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Road Warriors, and the Wolf Pack have loaned goaltender Jeff Malcolm and forward Andrew Rowe to Greenville.
Fast, a 6-0, 185-pound, 21-year-old native of Nassjo, Sweden, has suited up for eight games with the Rangers this season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes and six shots on goal. A sixth-round pick (157th overall) by New York in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Fast played one game with the Connecticut Whale last season, and had a goal and two penalty minutes, after notching 18-17-35 and four PIM in 47 games with HV71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Elite League. In 106 career Swedish Elite League contests over four seasons with HV71, Fast totaled 30 goals and 37 assists for 67 points, along with 14 penalty minutes.
Kantor, a rookie out of the Ontario Hockey League, has been scoreless in four games with the Wolf Pack. He signed as a free agent with the Rangers April 18, 2013. Malcolm, a first-year pro from Yale University, has made one appearance for the Pack, totaling 40 minutes of play, in which he allowed four goals on 23 shots. Malcolm signed an AHL contract with the Wolf Pack July 17, 2013, following an NCAA championship season with Yale.
Rowe has played three games with the Wolf Pack since being recalled from Greenville October 21, chipping in a goal and an assist for two points, and going +2 with one minor penalty. In two ECHL contests this year with the Road Warriors, the fourth-year pro out of Michigan State University has struck for three goals and an assist for four points, and compiled a +6 rating. Rowe was signed to an AHL deal by the Wolf Pack August 22, 2013.
The Wolf Pack return home to the XL Center for their next game, which is tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 30, with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers coming to town. Faceoff is 7:00 PM, and that is another Wolf Pack “Winning Wednesday”. At all Wednesday night home games this year, if the Wolf Pack win, each fan receives a free ticket to the Pack’s next home game.
