Terry Virtue Appearance Highlights Pack's "Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend"
Jan 18, 2017Former Wolf Pack defenseman Terry Virtue, a Wolf Pack mainstay from 1999-2000 through 2001-02, and a key member of the Wolf Pack’s 2000 Calder Cup-champion squad, will be making a special appearance at the Wolf Pack’s home game this Friday, January 20 vs. the Toronto Marlies.
Virtue will be on hand as part of the Wolf Pack’s “Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend”, as the Wolf Pack celebrates 20 years of AHL hockey in Hartford. The one-time New York Ranger and Boston Bruin will be signing autographs before the game on the XL Center concourse, and will also help drop the ceremonial first puck, prior to the 7:15 PM faceoff between the Wolf Pack and the Marlies.
Also at Friday night’s game, the first 2,000 fans through the doors receive a free Wolf Pack 20th anniversary poster, presented by Bud Light. In addition, the AHL’s Calder Cup will be on display, as will an exhibition of historic Wolf Pack, Connecticut Whale and Hartford Whaler jerseys, courtesy of MeiGray. Those include J.T. Miller and Cam Talbot Whale sweaters, a Jason LaBarbera Wolf Pack jersey and an inaugural season Wolf Pack jersey.
Plus, the fact that it is a Friday night means $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period.
Hartford Hockey Heritage Weekend continues this Saturday night, January 21, when the Rochester Americans come to the XL Center for a 7:00 game. The first 2,000 fans Saturday will take home a Wolf Pack 20th anniversary pin, and fans can again see the Calder Cup, as well as MeiGray’s historic Wolf Pack/Whaler jersey display.
