Rangers Recall Holland from Pack, Return Nieves
Jan 15, 2018New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Peter Holland from the Wolf Pack, and has assigned Boo Nieves to Hartford.
Holland, 27, has skated in 36 AHL games this season with the Wolf Pack and Laval Rocket, registering 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points, along with 40 penalty minutes. He is tied for 12th in the AHL in points in 2017-18. Holland has tallied 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 16 games with the Wolf Pack this season, and he has recorded a point in 10 of the 16 contests. He has notched a point in three of his last four AHL games (two goals, one assist), and he has registered 14 shots on goal over those four contests.
The 6-2, 205-pounder has skated in 243 career NHL games over parts of six seasons (2011-12 – 2016-17) with Anaheim, Toronto, and Arizona, registering 35 goals and 46 assists for 81 points, along with 105 penalty minutes. Holland established career-highs in assists (18) and points (27) with Toronto during the 2015-16 season, and he tallied a career-high, 11 goals with the Maple Leafs in 2014-15.
The Toronto, Ontario, native was acquired by the Rangers from Montreal in exchange for Adam Cracknell on Nov. 30, 2017. Holland was originally selected by Anaheim in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Nieves has skated in 28 games with the Rangers this season, registering one goal and eight assists for nine points, along with 12 penalty minutes.
