Mar 27, 2018Wolf Pack general manager Chris Drury announced today that the parent New York Rangers have returned goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to the Wolf Pack, and have reassigned fellow netminder Chris Nell from the Wolf Pack to its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

He made his NHL debut on February 22 at Montreal, becoming the first Bulgarian-born goaltender in NHL history and the first goaltender of Russian nationality to appear in a game with the Rangers in franchise history. Georgiev stopped 38 of 40 shots he faced in his NHL debut against the Canadiens, establishing a franchise record for saves by a goaltender in his first NHL game. In addition, he became the first goaltender in Rangers history to make 30 or more saves in each of his first five NHL starts.
