Pack Announce Roster Changes
Feb 28, 2017Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld today announced the following Wolf Pack roster changes:
- Forward Pavel Buchnevich was returned on loan to the Wolf Pack by the parent New York Rangers.
- Forward Dan Catenacci was assigned to the Wolf Pack, after being acquired by the Rangers from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenseman Mat Bodie.
- Defenseman Steven Kampfer was recalled from the Wolf Pack by the Rangers.
- The Wolf Pack recalled defenseman Spiro Goulakos from its ECHL affiliate, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
Buchnevich has skated in 26 games with the Rangers this season, registering six goals and nine assists for 15 points, along with a plus-four rating and 13 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 193-pounder has also skated in three games with the Wolf Pack in 2016-17, recording two points (one goal, one assist) and a plus-one rating.
Catenacci, 23, has skated in 50 games with the Rochester Americans of the AHL this season, registering five goals and eight assists for 13 points, along with 44 penalty minutes. The 5-9, 191-pounder has skated in 246 career AHL games over parts of five seasons (2012-13 – 2016-17), registering 43 goals and 46 assists for 89 points, along with 175 penalty minutes. In addition, Catenacci skated in 11 NHL games with the Sabres during the 2015-16 season. The Newmarket, Ontario, native was selected by the Sabres in the third round, 77th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Bodie skated in 196 AHL games with the Wolf Pack over parts of three seasons (2014-15 – 2016-17), registering 20 goals and 78 assists for 98 points, along with 127 penalty minutes. He was signed by the Rangers as an undrafted free agent on Apr. 15, 2014.
Kampfer, 28, has skated in 41 AHL games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering four goals and 12 assists for 16 points, along with 42 penalty minutes. He was acquired by the Rangers from Florida, along with a conditional draft pick, in exchange for Dylan McIlrath on Nov. 8, 2016.
Goulakos, a 6-2, 185-pound second-year pro who signed an AHL contract with the Wolf Pack August 22, 2016, saw action in five games with the Wolf Pack earlier this season, registering two assists, four penalty minutes and six shots on goal. The 27-year-old Colgate University product leads Swamp Rabbit defensemen in goals, and is second overall in the ECHL in goals among defensemen, and is second among Greenville defensemen in points, with 14-17-31 in 38 games. He also leads the Swamp Rabbit club in penalty minutes with 91.
The Wolf Pack are back on home ice tomorrow night, Wednesday, March 1, taking on the Springfield Thunderbirds in a 7:00 PM game. That is another “Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack” game. The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $40.
