Fast Earns Recall from Rangers
Apr 7, 2014New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled forward Jesper Fast from the Wolf Pack.
Fast, 22, recorded a point on all three Hartford goals in a 3-2 victory against Norfolk yesterday. His three-point performance marked a single-game career-high, and included the lone assist on the opening goal 56 seconds into the contest, a power play goal, and the game-winning goal. Fast has registered 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points, along with 30 penalty minutes and a plus-14 rating in 48 games with Hartford this season. He ranks third on the team in goals, seventh in assists and points, and is tied for second in plus/minus rating. He also leads the team and is tied for eighth among AHL rookies with eight power play goals.
The Nassjo, Sweden native returns to the Rangers where he has skated in eight games this season. He made his NHL debut in the season opener on October 3rd at Phoenix. Fast was originally selected by the Rangers as a sixth round choice, 157th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
