Chris Nell Named Wolf Pack's 2017-18 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year
Mar 29, 2018The Wolf Pack are proud to announce that Chris Nell has been named the team’s winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Hartford community during the 2017-18 season.
Even though he has not been with the Wolf Pack for the entire season, Nell has stood out in the area of dedication to community service. He has been the first to volunteer to pitch in to any number of the Wolf Pack's community initiatives, including the "Read to the Rink" program, Connecticut Children's Medical Center visits and PAL Hockey, and he has unfailingly approached all of this outreach with a kindhearted and selfless demeanor. In addition, from his first arrival in Hartford, he has actively petitioned the Wolf Pack staff for more and different opportunities to give back to the community.
Nell is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL’s 2017-18 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League at a later date.
