Chris Bourque Named a First-Team AHL All-Star
Apr 9, 2015The American Hockey League today announced that Wolf Pack forward Chris Bourque has been named to the 2014-15 AHL First All-Star Team.
Bourque leads the Wolf Pack club in points, goals and assists this season, with 27-32-59 in 67 games. The tenth-year pro also ranks tied for fourth among AHL goal-scorers, and tied for sixth in points. Earlier on this year, Bourque represented the Wolf Pack in the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic in Utica, his third career AHL All-Star Classic appearance.
This is the second career First-Team AHL All-Star nod for Bourque. He also earned First-Team All-Star honors in 2011-12, when he led the league in points and assists for the Hershey Bears, with 27-66-93 in 73 games. The 29-year-old Boston, MA native has also captured three Calder Cups during his AHL career, winning titles with the Bears in 2005-06, 2008-09 and 2009-10.
Bourque has skated in 504 career AHL games during his tenure in the league, with the Bears, Providence Bruins and Wolf Pack, amassing 169 goals and 323 assists for 492 points.
A free-agent signee by the New York Rangers July 2, 2014, Bourque was originally a second-round selection (33rd overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2004 NHL Draft.
The Wolf Pack’s next action is a home game tomorrow night, Friday, April 10, with the Springfield Falcons visiting the XL Center for a 7:00 game. As at all Friday-night Wolf Pack games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period.
