SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Hartford Wolf Pack struck three times in the third period of their preseason opener on Wednesday night against the Springfield Thunderbirds, but ultimately it would not be enough. The Thunderbirds used a Marcus Sylvegard goal to prevail 4-3 in the shootout in the lone exhibition installment of the ‘I-91 Rivalry’.

Tarun Fizer opened the scoring 4:13 into the hockey game, wiring a shot by goaltender Talyn Boyko. Fizer entered the right-wing circle and uncorked a shot that beat Boyko for his first goal of the preseason.

Each team saw numerous opportunities on the powerplay in the opening frame, as the Wolf Pack got three advantages while the Thunderbirds received two. Each team’s penalty killing units stood tall, however, as the powerplays were unable to light the lamp.

Chongmin Lee had a terrific chance for the Wolf Pack shorthanded late in the first period but was denied on a breakaway attempt by Will Cranley.

Boyko was forced to make a few great saves in the opening stanza as well, including a denial of a high-danger chance off the stick of Sylvegard.

Cranley made nine saves in the first period, exiting the game for Cam Johnson at the intermission.

Johnson also made a breakaway save for the Thunderbirds, denying Peter Laviolette midway through the middle stanza.

Boyko, who made 14 saves on 15 shots, left the game at the 29

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack picked up their first victory of the preseason on Thursday night, beating the rival Bridgeport Islanders in a dramatic contest by a final score of 5-4 at the Koeppel Community Sports Center on the campus of Trinity College.

Nate Sucese played the role of hero in his preseason debut with the Wolf Pack. After the Islanders stormed back with two late goals to tie the hockey game, Sucese pounced on a loose puck and jammed home the rebound at 16:54 of the third period.

Alex Belzile opened the scoring in his preseason debut 7:57 into the contest, converting Hartford’s first powerplay of the game. With Marshall Warren in the penalty box for cross-checking, Belzile took a pass from Jake Leschyshyn and wired home the ice-breaking goal.

Adam Erne, also making his preseason debut, picked up the secondary assist on the tally.

The goal marked Hartford’s third straight successful powerplay, dating back to Wednesday night’s preseason opener against the Springfield Thunderbirds.

15 seconds after taking the lead, the Wolf Pack found themselves down a skater. Blake Hillman was assessed a slashing penalty at 8:12, giving the Islanders their first powerplay of the contest.

It would be the Wolf Pack who extended the lead, however, with the Islanders up a skater. Jake Murray blasted home his first goal of the preseason at 9:26, m

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack wrapped up their 2024 exhibition slate with a convincing 5-1 victory over the rival Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena on Saturday afternoon. The win gives Hartford a final record of 2-0-0-1 in the preseason.

Maxim Barbashev potted his second goal of the exhibition season to make it a 2-0 spread at 13:56 of the opening stanza. Bryce McConnell-Barker entered the zone on the right-wing side, driving deep before sending a cross-ice pass to Barbashev in front. The rookie forward polished off the play, giving Hartford all of the offense it would need on the afternoon.

Alex Belzile opened the scoring with his second goal of the preseason 11:36 into the contest. The veteran forward found the puck in front of the Islanders' net, collected it, and went forehand to backhand before beating Henrik Tikkanen.

2:20 later, Barbashev potted the eventual game-winning goal in the Pack’s second straight victory. The point was the first of two (1 g, 1 a) on the afternoon for Barbashev.

Jake Leschyshyn extended the lead to 3-0 at 15:27, converting a give-and-go with Adam Erne. Anton Blidh picked up the secondary assist, capping off a stretch of three goals in 3:51.

Dylan Garand got the start in goal for the Wolf Pack, making his preseason debut with the club. He made six saves in a perfect first period, including one off a point-blank chance fro

ALLENTOWN, PA – The Hartford Wolf Pack scored a late six-on-four powerplay goal to earn a point Saturday night in Allentown, PA, against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Despite a strong push, the Pack could not complete the comeback as the Phantoms took a 2-1 shootout decision to win the Opening Night contest 4-3.

Olle Lycksell started on the left-wing side before cutting his way across the net and lifting a backhand shot by Louis Domingue in the top of the third round of the shootout to give the Phantoms a 2-1 lead. Alex Belzile had a chance to keep the Wolf Pack alive in the bottom of the round but was denied by Alexei Kolosov.

Domingue turned in a strong first period, making 11 saves to keep the Phantoms off the board in the opening stanza. His best save of the period came off of Rodrigo Abols, who was set up with a dangerous look in the slot late in the period.

Shortly after Domingue’s big save, the Wolf Pack were awarded their second powerplay of the night when Adam Ginning was whistled for holding. Less than a minute into the skater advantage, the Wolf Pack drew first blood.

Brennan Othmann kept a puck in at the right-wing point and swung a cross-ice pass to Brett Berard. Berard worked his way into a dangerous area and snapped a shot by Kolosov at 17:56 for the club’s first goal of the season.

Jacob Gaucher notched the first goal of the Phantoms’ season 5:27 into

HARTFORD, CT – The 50th season of professional hockey in Hartford opened with a bang on Friday night. On the strength of three points each from Brett Berard and Jaroslav Chmelař, the Pack held on for a wild 6-5 victory over the Springfield Thunderbirds at the XL Center.

The win marked the first career victory for Grant Potulny as the Head Coach of the Wolf Pack.

Berard’s second goal of the season proved to be the game-winning goal on this night. Chmelař’s strong play along the boards paved the way to the front of the net for the rookie forward. Vadim Zherenko denied Chmelař’s hat trick bid, but a trailing Berard buried a feed from Chmelař from behind the net to make it a 6-4 game at the 10:47 mark of the third period.

Reminiscent of the battles between these foes last season, the goal-scoring was plentiful. The Thunderbirds got to work quickly off a turnover in the Hartford zone. Nikita Alexandrov walked down the right wing before beating Louis Domingue above the left shoulder for his second tally of the season, giving Springfield the early 1-0 lead at 2:01.

The Wolf Pack responded swiftly, as Brennan Othmann potted home a pinballing puck from the side of the net past Zherenko at 4:27 to knot the game at one apiece. Bo Groulx earned his first point in a Wolf Pack uniform with the primary assist on the marker.

HARTFORD, CT – Bo Groulx and Brett Berard put on an offensive show on Saturday night at the XL Center in Hartford. Groulx collected his first two goals as a member of the Wolf Pack, part of a four-point outburst for the forward. Berard, meanwhile, scored twice as the Wolf Pack knocked off the rival Bridgeport Islanders 5-4 in overtime.

As regulation expired, Marc Gatcomb was assessed a two-minute minor for boarding, setting the Wolf Pack up with their seventh powerplay of the game entering overtime. 98 seconds into the overtime period, Berard blasted a shot from the right-wing circle by Marcus Hogberg to give the Wolf Pack the dramatic victory.

The goal was Berard’s second of the night and team-leading fourth of the season. It was also his second game-winning goal of the campaign.

Groulx got the scoring started 14:13 into the hockey game, potting his first as a member of the Wolf Pack. Following a turnover, Alex Belzile fired a puck towards the net that clipped the leg of defenseman Marshall Warren. The puck came right to Groulx, who slammed home his first goal in the AHL since April 8, 2023, as a member of the San Diego Gulls.

Just 37 seconds later, however, the Islanders countered. Matthew Maggio found Liam Foudy in the neutral zone, who quickly tapped a pass ahead to Fredrik Karlström. Karlström split the defense, created a breakaway, and beat Dylan Garand by the blocker<

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack were shutout for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 4-0 decision to the rival Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena. Despite the loss, the Wolf Pack concluded their first three-in-three weekend of the season with a winning 2-1-0-0 record.

The physicality from Saturday night’s contest carried over into the first period of Sunday’s affair, as numerous post-whistle scrums populated the frame. The Islanders received the only power play, however, getting an advantage 9:35 into the stanza. The Wolf Pack’s penalty kill stood strong, limiting the looks for the Islanders.

The Wolf Pack got the better of the shots in the first 20 minutes, outshooting the Islanders 8-4. Both Louis Domingue and Jakub Skarek were sharp in the period, however, keeping it 0-0.

The Wolf Pack earned their second power play of the hockey game at 5:40 of the middle stanza when Eetu Liukas was whistled for hooking. Just over a minute into the power play, the ice would finally be broken in the game, but by a surprising culprit.

A turnover inside the offensive zone sprung Brian Pinho in on a two-on-one with Liam Foudy. Pinho elected to shoot from the left-wing side, rocketing a shot by Domingue for his second goal of the season at 6:59. The goal was Bridgeport’s second shorthanded marker of the season.

HARTFORD, CT – Bo Groulx’s third goal of the season was his biggest as a member of the Wolf Pack. His goal 39 seconds into the overtime period on Friday night pushed the Wolf Pack to a 4-3 victory over the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the XL Center in Hartford.

Groulx waited out a sliding Alexei Kolosov before slipping the puck through the five-hole to secure the two points just 39 seconds into the overtime frame. Brett Berard, who capped off a two-point night, picked up the primary assist, while Casey Fitzgerald was credited with the secondary helper.

The Wolf Pack came out hot, with Adam Sýkora registering two chances in tight in the opening ten seconds. The club capitalized on the momentum as Berard capped off a pretty passing play to beat Kolosov over the left pad with a backhander. Berard’s fifth marker of the season came at 3:38, with Nathan Sucese recording his first point as a member of the Wolf Pack with an assist.

A power play for Lehigh Valley opened the door for their offense to get into a groove. Dylan Garand stood tall as the Pack got the kill, but moments later it was Rodrigo Abols putting home his first goal as a Phantom at 11:00 off a feed from Olle Lycksell.

The Phantoms controlled the play in the opening minutes of the middle stanza and were rewarded with the go-ahead goal. New addition Oscar Eklind batted home a caroming puck at the back door to make it 2

HARTFORD, CT – Dylan Roobroeck notched his first career professional goal on Sunday afternoon at the XL Center in downtown Hartford. It would not be enough on this day, however, as five unanswered Springfield Thunderbirds goals pushed them to a 5-2 victory over the Wolf Pack.

Tanner Dickinson’s first goal of the season 11:08 into the second period gave the Thunderbirds a 3-1 lead and would stand as the game-winning tally. Dickinson took a pass from Michael Buchinger and worked to the top of the slot area. From there, he rifled a shot top shelf by Louis Domingue. Buchinger’s assist would be his first career professional point.

Shortly after an early penalty kill, Bo Groulx scored the game’s first goal. After a Thunderbirds’ scoring chance rocketed out into the neutral zone, Groulx led a two-on-one into the offensive zone with Brett Berard. Groulx sold a pass before lifting a shot above the glove of Colten Ellis to give the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead at 8:16.

A forechecking effort from Dylan Peterson and Drew Callin knotted the game at one apiece at 11:12. Callin corralled the puck behind the net before netting a swift wraparound attempt that beat Domingue for his first of the year.

Dalibor Dvorsky broke the tie at the 8:52 mark of the middle stanza, giving the Thunderbirds the lead for good. He fired an unsuspecting shot towards the goal that caught a Wolf Pack stick in fro

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack ended their three-game homestand on a winning note on Wednesday night at the XL Center. Trailing 2-0 after two periods of play, the Wolf Pack stormed back to stun the Grand Rapids Griffins by a final score of 3-2 in overtime.

Ryder Korczak scored his first career game-winning goal 2:44 into overtime, deflecting a centering pass from Adam Sýkora. Korczak rushed to the net, got his stick down, and tipped Sýkora’s pass by Sebastian Cossa to give the Wolf Pack their first victory when trailing after two periods this season.

The goal was also Korczak’s first of the campaign.

The Griffins broke the ice 3:43 into the game, converting on a defensive zone turnover by the Wolf Pack. Dominik Shine worked into a dangerous area off the turnover and roofed his third goal of the season by Dylan Garand to break the ice. Antti Tuomisto forced the turnover at the Griffins’ blue line before feeding an open Shine.

Garand made some key saves in the opening frame to keep the Pack’s deficit at one, including an outstretched pad save on Elmer Söderblom.

The middle stanza brought an early powerplay opportunity for Griffins, their first advantage of the game. They made quick work of it, as Shine ripped a shot above the shoulder of Garand for his second goal of the evening off a setup from Joe Snively. Shine’s tally ca

SYRACUSE, NY – The Hartford Wolf Pack and Syracuse Crunch played an entertaining hockey game at the Upstate Medical University Arena on Friday night. The back-and-forth affair saw both teams collect a point before the Crunch ultimately prevailed 3-2 in overtime.

In overtime, the Crunch gained first possession and never gave it up. Gabriel Szturc attempted a wraparound, but saw the puck roll off his stick and into the right-wing circle. The puck came to Max Crozier, who beat a diving Dylan Garand for his first goal of the season at 41 seconds of overtime.

After an early penalty kill, the Crunch converted on their first power play of the night to break the ice. Veteran center Logan Brown fired a shot that Garand got a piece of, making the initial save. The rebound popped right to rookie Dylan Duke, however, who buried his fourth goal of the season just 5:23 into the hockey game.

The Wolf Pack got a big kill late in the period, thwarting the Crunch with Jake Leschyshyn in the penalty box for cross-checking. Following the kill, which featured two big saves from Garand, the Wolf Pack were awarded their second power play of the night.

Late in the power play, Adam Erne was hooked in the defensive zone by Jaydon Dureau, setting the Wolf Pack up with their third power play of the game to start the middle frame.

Despite not scoring on the power play, the Wolf Pack wrestled the momentum away a

WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Hartford Wolf Pack battled until the end on Saturday night, but ultimately came up just short in a 2-1 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza.

Despite a lack of goals in the opening period, there was not a lack of chances and entertainment. Louis Domingue made six saves in the opening stanza, while Tristan Jarry stopped 12 bids from the Wolf Pack.

Hartford got the game’s first power play at 11:26, as Emil Bemström was whistled for goaltender interference. The Wolf Pack spent the majority of the two minutes in the offensive zone but could not solve Jarry.

The Penguins’ best chance of the period came late, as Corey Andonovski intercepted a pass. Andonovski made his way to the slot and snapped a shot that beat Domingue but clipped the goal post and rifled back into the slot. Alex Belzile was able to find the puck and clear it, keeping the Wolf Pack out of danger.

The Penguins needed just 33 seconds to break the ice in the second period. Isaac Belliveau fired a shot from the right-wing point and through traffic that beat Domingue for his first career AHL goal. Ville Koivunen and former Wolf Pack defenseman Mac Hollowell picked up the helpers on the goal, the second-fastest allowed by the Wolf Pack to start a period this season.

Koivunen extended the lead to 2-0 at 10:54, blasting his second goal of the season fr

HARTFORD, CT – Alex Belzile picked the perfect time for his first goal of the season. The veteran forward beat the buzzer in overtime on Wednesday night at the XL Center, pushing the Wolf Pack over the visiting Syracuse Crunch by a final score of 2-1 in overtime.

Belzile beat the buzzer with just 6.6 seconds remaining in the extra frame. The veteran forward peeled off the wall before dancing by two Crunch players and beating Brandon Halverson through the five-hole for his first of the season to earn the Wolf Pack the second point.

The win improves the club to 5-1-0-0 at the XL Center this season.

A high-energy first period saw the Crunch test Dylan Garand right away. The Crunch largely controlled the neutral zone, leading to a steady offensive attack.

Garand came up big on a number of occasions to keep the game deadlocked, as the clubs headed to the first intermission without a goal. The Crunch outshot the Wolf Pack 13-3 through the opening 20 minutes. The Wolf Pack’s three shots were their fewest in a single period this season.

Brett Berard nearly broke the ice midway through the middle stanza as he powered his way to the front of the net and elevated a backhander that Halverson denied.

The Wolf Pack had their best shift of the game following a brief four-on-four segment, spending nearly two minutes in the offensive zone and ending with another power play opportunity.

ROCHESTER, NY – Two early power play goals for the Rochester Americans would be too much to overcome for the Wolf Pack on this Friday night. Despite the first multi-point games of Dylan Roobroeck and Bryce McConnell-Barker’s careers (1 g, 1 a), the Wolf Pack fell 6-3 to the Americans.

Konsta Helenius made it a 4-1 game at 13:32 of the second period, potting his fifth goal of the season and extending his scoring streak to four games. The strike was the middle goal of a stretch of three in a span of 3:26.

The Americans opened the scoring 6:34 into the hockey game when Brett Murray tipped home his third goal of the season 25 seconds into the club’s first power play. Isak Rosén fired a shot from the left-wing point that Murray deflected at the backdoor, giving the Americans a lead they never lost.

The Amerks made quick work of their second power play, scoring just 27 seconds in. This time, Rosén set up Jiri Kulich for a one-time blast from the right-wing circle. The goal, scored at 10:15, was the second goal of the season for Kulich.

The Wolf Pack got on the board at 13:54, cutting the deficit to 2-1 via Roobroeck’s fourth goal of the season, McConnell-Barker entered the zone on the left-wing side before sending a pass to the slot for Roobroeck. The rookie quickly corralled the puck and beat Felix Sandstrom to pick up his fifth

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Hartford Wolf Pack were unable to complete a third period comeback this evening at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, RI. Despite a strong push late, the Wolf Pack fell 4-2 to the rival Providence Bruins.

Marc McLaughlin extended the Bruins lead to 3-1 early in the second period, capitalizing on a collision inside the Bruins’ zone. Two Wolf Pack players collided, giving the puck to Tyler Pitlick. He connected with McLaughlin, who broke in on a breakaway and beat Dylan Garand through the five-hole at 2:12. The goal, McLaughlin’s second in as many nights, would prove to be the game-winning tally.

Bo Groulx opened the scoring 9:57 into the hockey game, notching the 100th point in his AHL career. The veteran forward dumped the puck into the offensive zone just ahead of the blueline, firing it off the end wall. The puck bounced off the boards, hit goaltender Michael DiPietro, and found the back of the net.

The goal was Groulx’s fifth of the season, and his team-leading tenth point (5 g, 5 a).

The Wolf Pack would take their lead into the second period but could not hold off the Bruins in the middle stanza. The club surrendered a season-high 20 shots in the frame, being outshot 20-7.

Max Jones tied the game at 10:40, burying a rebound for his first goal as a Bruin. Fabian Lysell’s shot from the slot was denied by Garand, but the rebound sat to his left for

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack got four goals from defensemen on Friday night, including three in the third period. The goals helped the Wolf Pack snap a two-game losing skid as they doubled up the Charlotte Checkers 4-2 at the XL Center.

Brandon Scanlin extended the lead to 3-1 at 6:25 of the third period, blasting home his second goal of the season from the right-wing circle. After a scramble in front, Bryce McConnell-Barker was able to get the puck to Scanlin, whose blast into traffic beat Chris Driedger to give the Wolf Pack enough offense on this night.

The Wolf Pack applied tons of early pressure, as Jaroslav Chmelař and Anton Blidh each registered dangerous chances in the opening minute. Aidan McDonough would take a slashing minor just 58 seconds into the game, setting the Wolf Pack up with the game’s first power play.

Despite not scoring on the skater advantage, the Wolf Pack generated a ton of pressure and kept the momentum flowing. 15 seconds after the penalty expired, Connor Mackey fired a shot from the left-wing point that beat a screened Driedger to give the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead.

The goal was Mackey’s first of the season and was assisted by Matthew Robertson and Ryder Korczak. It was the first of two assists in the game for Robertson.

The Checkers fought back and ended up outshooting the Wolf Pack 11-10 in the first peri

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack picked up their second consecutive win to open their season-long, six-game homestand on Saturday night. Four different goal scorers helped the club double up the Providence Bruins by a score of 4-2, knotting the season series at one win a piece.

Connor Mackey’s second goal of the season put the Wolf Pack ahead 3-1 8:15 into the third period. The club entered the zone on a three-on-two, with Brett Berard holding possession. Berard connected with Mackey, the trailer, who whistled a shot by Brandon Bussi for his first game-winning goal of the season.

For the second straight night, the Wolf Pack’s defense opened the scoring. Berard fired a backhand pass to Blake Hillman, who worked into the left-wing circle and blasted a shot by Bussi for his first goal of the season at 5:02. Alex Belzile picked up the secondary assist, his team-leading seventh of the season.

Matt Rempe was whistled for an interference minor at 6:49, giving the Bruins their first power play of the night. Vinni Lettieri would even the game at 8:14, tipping in a point shot from Ian Mitchell for his eighth goal of the season.

Matt Poitras picked up the secondary assist on the goal, his first career point in the AHL.

With Berard in the penalty box for tripping at 11:30 of the second period, the Wolf Pack’s pena

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack picked up their third consecutive victory on Tuesday morning, knocking off the Charlotte Checkers in a wild ‘School Day Game’ affair. When the dust settled, the Pack won their fifth straight at home thanks to a 5-4 shootout victory.

Alex Belzile capped a spectacular day with a shootout goal in the first round of the skills competition. His goal would stand as the winner, as Louis Domingue turned aside all three Checkers’ attempts to preserve the victory for the Wolf Pack.

Bo Groulx wasted no time getting the Wolf Pack on the board, striking just 14 seconds into the hockey game. After a defensive zone turnover by the Checkers, Groulx collected possession and weaved his way to the goal. He backhanded a shot that beat Chris Driedger for his sixth goal of the season and the 101st point of his AHL career.

The goal was the fastest to start a game this season for the Wolf Pack.

The Checkers, for the second straight meeting, would find a first period equalizer to even the tilt 1-1. Aidan McDonough entered the zone on the left-wing side and looked to thread a pass to the backdoor. The puck banked off a defenseman, clipped Domingue, and found the back of the net at 7:19.

The goal was McDonough’s tenth of the season in just his 13th game.

Belzile wrestled the lead back for the Wolf Pack at 15:41, scoring his second goal of the season. Belzil

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack outshot the Springfield Thunderbirds 33-23 in front of 6,349 fans at the XL Center on Saturday night. It would not be enough, however, as the Thunderbirds struck three times at five-on-five to take a 4-2 decision. The loss snapped the Wolf Pack’s three-game overall winning streak and five-game winning streak on home ice.

Matthew Peca struck twice for the Thunderbirds, applying the dagger in the second period.

Dylan Garand made a nice save on Nikita Alexandrov down low, but the rebound fell into the Thunderbirds’ possession. Leo Loof eventually gained possession and fired a cross-ice pass to Peca in the right-wing circle, who blasted home his seventh goal of the season.

Loof’s assist was his second of the night and his fifth of the season, while Alexandrov picked up his seventh assist and 13th point on the goal at 17:51 of period two.

Peca opened the scoring for the visitors 8:51 into the hockey game, burying his sixth goal of the season from the right-wing circle. Tyler Tucker set up Peca from the left-wing side, allowing the Thunderbirds’ captain to extend his goal-scoring streak to three games.

The Wolf Pack settled the game down and controlled a majority of the play for the remainder of the period. They finally solved Colten Ellis at 19:00, as Matt Rempe tipped home his se

HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack dropped their second straight game on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-1 to the Bridgeport Islanders at the XL Center

Marc Gatcomb netted the game-winner for the Islanders at the 4:11 mark of the third period, putting home a rebound for his seventh goal of the season. Justin Gill’s shot from the right-wing circle was denied by Louis Domingue, but the rebound came right to the stick of Gatcomb.

The goal put the Islanders ahead 2-1 at the time and was the first of two points for Gatcomb (1 g, 1 a) in the game.

The Islanders began to find their stride following an early penalty kill, registering a flurry of scoring chances that kept Domingue on his toes. Chris Terry had a dangerous bid just outside the blue paint that the veteran netminder was able to deny, keeping the game goalless.

Domingue made the save of the period in the final minute, as a centering feed from Tyce Thompson caught a body before deflecting up and over him. Domingue was able to narrowly get a glove on the puck right along the goal line, keeping it 0-0.

He made ten saves in the opening stanza.

Bo Groulx went off for a double minor for high-sticking early in the second period, giving the Islanders their first power play of the game. The Wolf Pack killed off the first two minutes then drew a penalty wit

HARTFORD, CT – Despite two goals from Anton Blidh and three points from Alex Belzile, the Hartford Wolf Pack were unable to put away the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday night. After tying the game for the fourth time late in regulation time, the Phantoms stole the second point 3:22 into overtime, prevailing 5-4

Samu Tuomaala entered the offensive zone late in overtime with tons of space down the right-wing side. Tuomaala snapped a shot that beat Dylan Garand for his second goal of the night, eighth of the season, and fourth against the Wolf Pack.

The goal snapped a four-game losing streak (0-3-1-0) overall for the Phantoms, and a four-game skid at the XL Center (0-2-2-0).

Blidh opened the scoring 5:06 into the game, deflecting home his third goal of the season. Matthew Robertson fired a puck from the left-wing point the Blidh tipped directly in front of goaltender Cal Petersen.

Blidh’s goal was his second against the Phantoms this season, and his first since Nov. 1 against the Syracuse Crunch.

Just 82 seconds later, however, Tuomaala tied the game with his seventh goal of the season. Following a turnover in the neutral zone, Tuomaala entered the offensive zone on a breakaway. He went to the backhand and beat Garand for his third goal against the Wolf Pack this season at 6:28.

Late in the period, Petersen robbed Blake
