The Wolf Pack finished off a stretch of eight games in 12 days with a four-game week this past week. The Pack went 2-1-0-1 in the four contests, with a 2-1 win at Lowell on Wednesday, a 6-1 home defeat to Providence Thursday, a 5-2 GEICO Connecticut Cup win over Bridgeport at the XL Center on Saturday and a 3-2 shootout loss in Lowell on Sunday. The Wolf Pack are now 11-2-2-2 in their last 17 games and 36-15-2-6 for 80 points on the year, five points out of first place in the Atlantic Division.
This week:
The Wolf Pack are off until Friday night, when they start a three-game weekend with a Guida’s Family Value Night game against Norfolk. Faceoff is 7:00 at the XL Center. The Manchester Monarchs invade the XL Center Saturday night for a 7:00 game on “Dollar Dog Night”, and then the Pack travel to Portland to take on the Pirates on Sunday (4:05).

This week features a special edition of the Wolf Pack’s weekly Tuesday-night talk show, broadcast live from the Wolf Pack’s Season Ticket Holder Skating Party at the XL Center. A number of different Wolf Pack guests will join host Bob Crawford from 7:00-8:00 PM on the radio home of the Wolf Pack, ESPN Radio 1410. The show will return to its regular home, the M&M Restaurant at the Hilton Hartford, located at 315 Trumbull St. in downtown Hartford, the following Tuesday, March 4th.

This game is dedicated to the memory of East Hartford Police Officer Brian A. Aselton. Brian was shot and killed in the line of duty on January 23, 1999, when he interrupted a burglary in progress. Brian is the first police officer in East Hartford to be killed during the commission of a felony.
The Admirals still reside in last place in the East Division, with a record of 21-30-2-5 for 49 points, but have failed to gain a standings point only three times in their last 16 games (10-3-1-2).
The Wolf Pack are 3-0-0-0 this season against Norfolk, and posted a 6-3 win November 14th in the only previous battle between the two teams in Hartford.
Kyle Wanvig has compiled the top offensive totals on the Admirals’ club, with 19-28-47 in 45 games.

The Wolf Pack have won the last four games between themselves and the Monarchs and are 4-1-0-1 in the season series, 2-0-0-0 at the XL Center.
With Teddy Purcell on recall to parent-club Los Angeles, Gabe Gauthier leads Manchester in scoring. He has struck for 20-32-52 in 51 games.
The Monarchs are currently four points out of a playoff spot in the Atlantic Division, at 25-24-4-4 for 58 points.

Sunday, March 2nd at Portland (Cumberland County Civic Center), 4:05 p.m.
The third-place Pirates trail the second-place Wolf Pack by eight points in the Atlantic. Head Coach Kevin Dineen’s team stands at 33-19-2-4 for 72 points.
Portland’s leading point-getter, Andrew Ebbett, currently ninth in the AHL with 55 points (13-42-55 in 55 GP), is on recall to Anaheim. Geoff Platt is the top scorer remaining on the Pirate roster, with 25-25-50 in 55 games.
The Wolf Pack are 3-1-1-1 in six games vs. the Pirates thus far on the year, and have split two previous visits to Portland.
