Dane Byers Recalled by NY Rangers

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Dane Byers has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Byers, 21, has skated in 45 games with Hartford (AHL) this season, registering 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points, along with 130 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating. Byers leads the Wolf Pack in penalty minutes (130), ranks third in plus/minus (plus-16), fourth in goals (12), and is tied for sixth in points (23). His plus-16 rating is also tied for 14th in the AHL, and he ranks 16th in the league with 130 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 195-pound forward has skated in 128 AHL games with Hartford over the last three seasons, recording 29 goals and 43 assists for 72 points and 349 penalty minutes. He also appeared in seven post-season contests for Hartford (AHL) in 2006-07, notching two goals and 16 penalty minutes.

The Nipawin, Saskatchewan native was originally selected by the Rangers in the second round, 48th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Wolf Pack finish off a five-game homestand tomorrow night, Wednesday, February 6th, as they host the Manchester Monarchs in a 7:00 game at the XL Center.
