Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed forward Ty Ronning to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement.
Ronning, a 5-9, 170-pound native of Scottsdale, AZ, just completed his fourth Western Hockey League season with the Vancouver Giants, leading team scorers in points and goals with 25-28-53 in 68 games. The 19-year-old Ronning also topped Giant skaters in points and goals last year, striking for 31-28-59 in 67 contests.
The parent New York Rangers selected Ronning, who has totaled 66 goals and 68 assists for 134 points in 215 career WHL games with the Giants, in the seventh round (201st overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Ronning’s father Cliff enjoyed a 1,137-game NHL career from 1986-87 through 2003-04, with the St. Louis Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes, Nashville Predators, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders.
The Wolf Pack return home to the XL Center tomorrow night, Friday, March 24, when they host the Providence Bruins. That is a 7:15 PM game, and, as at all Friday-night Wolf Pack home games, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period.
Tickets for all remaining Wolf Pack 2016-17 home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499.
