Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed defenseman Spiro Goulakos to an AHL contract.
Goulakos, 26, split his rookie season last year between the Rochester Americans of the AHL and the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals. In ten games with the Americans, the 6-2, 185-pounder had one goal and one assist for two points, four penalty minutes and a +2. In ECHL action, Goulakos led Jackal defensemen, and finished fourth overall on the team, in assists and was second among team blueliners in points, with seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 54 games. He also logged 103 penalty minutes, and his +12 rating was good for tops among team defensemen and third overall on the squad.
Prior to turning pro, the Montreal, Quebec-born Goulakos played four seasons at Colgate University (ECAC), amassing career totals of 22 goals and 49 assists for 71 points, plus 176 PIM.
