After offering everyone a chance to ask questions I knew this topic would come up right away. Fighting.
I have been known as an enforcer for pretty much my entire career. It was definitely hard at first but as with anything it got easier to deal with the title.
I really do believe that it is part of the game. There are so many different tactical reasons behind it even though I know the fans like it for the aggressive brutality. We are playing a sport and it is a very entertaining part of the game.
A question from Keith in New Fairfield addressed the topic of children viewing fights, thinking it's cool to fight and wanting to fight in their own games.
It is a touchy subject. Kids really need to be taught early that it's a job and that there are certain levels of hockey where fighting is acceptable and they have to be A LOT older before they can even think about it!
Thanks for the questions, keep them coming! Make sure to come and watch the boys this weekend, they are playing great and working really hard. Don't forget the Teddy Bear Toss Saturday night!
